The Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, which is a 749-bed skilled nursing facility set on 320 tree-lined acres located off Hwy 10 between Stevens Point and Appleton, currently has a vacancy for an entry level Pharmacy Technician. Job Duties This position will provide assistance to Pharmacists by performing a variety of technical tasks involving receiving, storage, preparation, compounding, packaging, distribution, labeling and record keeping of medication orders. :
Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection.
This position requires knowledge of proper medication storage and handling techniques; medical and pharmacological terminology; as well as the mathematics associated with medical dose determinations. Also required is the ability to communicate effectively; read and understand written correspondence; avoid distractions and perform tasks with high decree of accuracy; as well as the ability to perform basic clerical functions associated with a pharmacy.
