Architect/Engineer Management

Department of Administration (Madison, WI)

The Department of Administration, Division of State Facilities in Madison is seeking an Architect or Engineer to function as the project manager for statewide programs.

Job Duties:   This professional, technical and management position is responsible for providing architectural services for large and small complex architectural and engineering projects for all state agencies as authorized by the Wisconsin State Building Commission. This position provides project management as assigned to ensure that the projects are completed within the approved program scope, on schedule, within budget and in accordance with Division guidelines and policies and procedures. This position provides other general architectural/construction services including program and concept/budget assessment, building evaluations, on-site investigations, budget reviews, contract negotiations, construction document reviews and feasibility reports.

Special Notes:

  Registration as an Architect or Professional Engineer or eligibility through reciprocity with another state is a requirement of the position.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  Knowledge of, and technical skills and expertise in, project management, quality management and quality engineering; expertise in the building industry and construction/renovation practices; ability to review and interpret drawings and specifications. Skills and abilities in negotiation, collaboration, communication, analysis, conceptualization, budgeting, time and resource management, statistical methods. Excellent teamwork skills. Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.
